Understanding and Preparing for a Changing Health Care Labor Organizing Environment
Part 1: Law Changes and Assessing Risks
May 12, 2026
12:00pm-1:00pm
We welcome Tom O'Day from Husch Blackwell as this month's webinar presenter.
This three-part series will position hospitals to best respond to an organizing campaign by employees and/or a labor union. Participants will learn how to evaluate your organization to determine if labor organizing is a threat, will review proactive steps that can be taken to prepare for a labor organizing campaign, and will consider best practices and rules when a petition for a labor union is filed. A new or expanded labor union in a facility can have significant impacts on the operation and services provided – those hospitals that are best prepared to identify, respond and react to a labor organizing effort will serve all their stakeholders well.
