About
WisHHRA
The
Wisconsin Society of Hospital Personnel Directors was established in Fall of
1966. Personnel Directors from Fond du Lac, Sheboygan, Appleton, Oshkosh,
Milwaukee and Eau Claire comprised the steering committee. The first official
meeting of the Society took place on April 5, 1967.
During its 55 years of existence the organization has undergone many name
changes to reflect the growing sophistication of Human Resources
management. In 1972 the organization changed its name to the Wisconsin Society
for Hospital Personnel Administration (WSPAH), In 1981 to the Health Care
Personnel Administrators of Wisconsin (HCPAW), In 1990 to Wisconsin Society of
Healthcare Human Resource Administration and in 2013 to Wisconsin
Healthcare Human Resources Association (WisHHRA).
While there has been a few name changes over the years, the core mission
remains unchanged - bringing together skilled talent to raise both the
profession of Human Resources management and the performance of Wisconsin
healthcare leaders.
